The Church at Redstone is pleased to announce that Chris Moon will be assuming the role as head pastor near the end of this summer as current pastor, Bruce Gledhill, is moving on to retirement in late August. Please read below for information about Bruce and Chris.
Bruce is a native of Kansas and a graduate of Manhattan (KS) Christian College, Kansas State University, and Denver Seminary. He has served one church in Kansas and two in Colorado. He is a certified school teacher and has spent part of his career teaching in the public schools.
He and his wife Connie have a son and daughter who are married and between them have seven children. Bruce enjoys outdoor activities like bicycle riding, tennis and hiking.
Here is Pastor Bruce’s vision in his own words:
“The name of the church gives a clear indication of who we intend to be. Our identity is not primarily determined by some denomination or doctrine. Instead we want to be a church rooted in and responsive to the community where we exist. As people of faith, our primary purpose is to love and serve God. But in a very practical sense, that is only seen by how well we love and serve our community. As pastor of the church, it is my personal goal to love and serve this community where my wife and I live.
I believe it is essential for our church to provide care, encouragement, and inspiration to our community. One physical way we serve our community is by making our building available for a variety of meetings and community uses. We also organize and host a variety of special events for the community throughout the year, including musical concerts, holiday meals, and other events.
I believe the better we get to know God our Creator the more we are enabled to enjoy lives that are balanced, healthy, and fulfilled. Each week as I deliver a message, my goal is to present some insight from the Bible that helps us see in a clear and practical way how God’s plan helps us live that kind of life.”
Chris Moon and his family will join the Crystal River Valley from Stanton, Kentucky. Chris has been faithfully serving as head pastor at Stanton Christian Church since April 2014. Chris was raised in Kansas and spent 10 years in the newspaper industry before being called to serve in full-time ministry in 2011. Chris and his wife, Mary, have four children: Sophia, Anna, Isabella, and Sam.
